Chatelherault Country Park is a five-star visitor attraction that was once described as a ‘jewel in the landscape’ of Ferniegair. The grand estate was built in 1732 as a hunting lodge and summer house for the Dukes of Hamilton. The beautiful Georgian 18th century hunting lodge is situated on an eye-catching hilltop amidst magnificent landscaped gardens and ancient woodland and has spectacular views across the Clyde Valley. The restored buildings now house a visitor centre, while the West Lodge comprises the Banqueting Hall and Duke and Duchess Apartments. There’s also an exhibition gallery and displays plus a gift shop and café. Outside, visitors can explore 10 miles of walks along the scenic River Avon and through ancient woodland. The country park boasts five different trails ranging from 45 minutes to three hours at a gentle pace. In addition, the exquisite Chatelherault now serves as one of the country’s leading venues for weddings and conferences.

Go here all the time to hike with my family or my dog or alone, beautiful place with a certain vibe in the air. Very amazing place to go, love all the hidden paths in there. The old trees have love markings going all the way to the top! Which is absolutely beautiful to me. Walking there, taking a run, biking or going to sit somewhere to read here is one of my favourite things.
